"How simple it is, really, to extend a kindness when we see the need. Jesus set the example on many occasions. He led the blind man out of the town. Just a small kindness, but a powerful example. God helps us to recognize the opportunities we have every day to touch lives in small and simple ways."

  5. Hello Afsoon, The little things are often the ones most remembered. I was once in a very hard and hurtful situation...I remember being so down and crushed in spirit, then a knock came at my front door. It was a lady from the church I attended. I didn't know her very well, she was always dressed beautifully and kept to herself. Anyhow she told me the Lord had placed me on her heart. She sat on the lounge beside me as I poured out my heart to her. I cried and cried. She hardly spoke but her presence spoke a million words. I have never forgotten this sweet perfume of the Lord over 20yrs ago. God Bless your sharing. xx

    NEW HOMELESS BYELAW
WESTMINSTER CITY COUNCIL PLAN TO CRIMINALISE THE HOMELESS AND THE SOUP RUN VOLUNTEERS WHO HELP THEM

WESTMINSTER CITY COUNCIL HAS PROPOSED A BYLAW TO CRIMINALISE ROUGH SLEEPING AND STOP VOLUNTEERS GIVING PEOPLE FOOD AND FRIENDSHIP.
PEOPLE SLEEPING ON THE STREET CAN BE ARRESTED AND FINED UP TO £500 AND SO CAN ANYONE GIVING FOOD TO THOSE IN NEED.
IT PUNISHES PEOPLE WITH LITTLE AND ATTACKS THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO HELP WITHOUT ASKING TAXPAYERS TO FOOT THE BILL - THIS AT A TIME WHEN CUTS ARE STARTING TO BITE.

    WESTMINSTER SAYS
THE HOMELESS ARE ON THE STREETS BECAUSE SOUP RUNS GIVE OUT FREE FOOD, ALTHOUGH WHO WOULD CHOOSE TO SLEEP ROUGH FOR A CUPPA AND A SANDWICH?
    WESTMINSTER SAYS
EVERYONE IS OFFERED A BED IN A HOSTEL, BUT THERE AREN'T ENOUGH BEDS, AND MANY PEOPLE FIND HOSTELS THREATENING PLACES, SO TAKE A WHILE TO BE PERSUADED INSIDE.
    WESTMINSTER SAYS
THIS BYLAW IS NEEDED BECAUSE OF ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOUR AND STREET DRINKING, BUT THE POLICE ALREADY HAVE POWERS TO DEAL WITH THESE PROBLEMS SUCH AS DISPERSAL ZONES.

    WE SAY
WORK WITH THOSE WORKING WITH PEOPLE ON THE STREETS.
DONT RESTRICT YOUR WORK TO ONLY THREE DAY CENTRES.
WORK WITH SERVICES THAT OFFER PEOPLE A PLACE TO GO IN THE EVENING.
LISTEN TO THE VAST MAJORITY OF CHARITIES OPPOSED TO THIS BYLAW.
DONT CRIMINALISE THE POOR AND NEEDY!

STOP THE HOMELESS BAN! IT SHOULDN'T BE ILLEGAL TO BE IN NEED........OR TO HELP!!!!

WESTMINSTER IS CONSULTING ON THE PROPOSAL ONLY UNTIL 25TH MARCH, BUT YOU CAN HAVE YOUR SAY BY E-MAILING ALASTAIR REEVES AT THE COUNCIL: areeves1@westminster.gov.uk

YOU CAN FIND THE BYLAW AND THE CONSULTATION DOCUMENTS NEEDED TO REPLY ON: http://housingjustice.org.uk or http://www.thepavement.org.uk

so have your say as a christian on the homeless
